King Charles III has made a final decision about Prince Harry’s future with the royal family amid reports that the Duke wants to make amends with King Charles and Prince William.
The 75-year-old, who’s currently receiving treatment for his cancer, has often been the target of Harry, with several accusations leveled at him. But despite his estranged son’s public words, the King has remained almost silent on the situation—although he did give an unexpected four-word reply when he was asked about Harry on an engagement last year. During his visit to the University of East London’s Stratford campus in east London for its 125th anniversary, the King went over to greet some students and other well-wishers who had gathered to catch a glimpse of the monarch.
One man, after meeting with the monarch, shouted, “Bring back Harry, please. Can you please bring him back, please, Sir?” The King appeared to not hear at first about whom the man was talking and asked him, “Who?” The man replied, “Harry, your son,” to which Charles nervously and heartbreakingly replied, “It would be nice,” before quickly moving on.
Harry, who has a rocky relationship with his family at the moment, will not be allowed back after he gave up royal duties when stepping down as a working royal alongside his wife Meghan Markle in 2020, reports the Mirror.

According to The Times, despite their once frosty bond, Harry and his father are said to have had several “warm exchanges” since the King’s illness was diagnosed.
A royal source also told the newspaper that Charles, 75, is keen to reconcile and see more of his son and believes doing so would benefit the monarchy.
The father-of-two is reportedly thinking of returning to Britain as he feels alone in the US: “Harry’s world is very lonely. He’s in that big house [in Montecito, Calif.,] with Meghan, and everything is going wrong. The pressure on him is unbelievable. He might want to return to the royal family, but Meghan won’t want to go with him, and he’s not going to leave his kids. They’re the one bright spot in his life. He doesn’t want to lose them. But who knows if the royal family will even welcome him back,” the insider told In Touch Weekly.
The insider added: “Harry has secretly approached his father and brother about coming home. He begged them. William shut the discussion down right away. Charles, though, doesn’t want to lose his son. But if Charles dies, Harry may have no chance of ever returning. His legacy is in ruins.”
After meeting his cancer-stricken father earlier this year, Harry, in an interview, suggested the King’s condition could lead to a reconciliation with the royal family.
The Duke also said, “I love my family” and that he was “grateful” to be able to spend time with his father when he flew back to the UK.
The 75-year-old monarch, who’s currently receiving treatment for his cancer, avoids several public-facing duties on doctors’ advice. The Princess of Wales is also on limited duties whilst she receives treatment for her own cancer diagnosis.
Despite the Firm being short on working members, the King has no intention to welcome Harry back as a working royal. However, there are speculations and predictions that the Duke will finally return to the royal fold as he has also secretly approached the King in this regard.
